Customise the Squarespace Donation Confirmation page

It’s really easy to accept donations on a Squarespace website using a Donation Block but there are no built-in features to modify the ‘Thank You’ page that appears after a donation.

There’s also an issue with the ‘Thank You’ page because it incorrectly thanks the donor for donating to the ‘Site Title’ instead of the name of the charity or non-profit! This can cause lots of confusion! In the screenshot above, it says ‘SF Digital’ when it should say ‘World Wide Fund for Nature’, which is the title used for the Donation Block.

How to change the message

In this guide, I’ve provided a simple JavaScript solution that will fix this issue and allow you to choose your own wording below the ‘Thank You’ title.

In this example, you should add the script below to Settings > Advanced > Code Injection > FOOTER. Please note that this isn’t a typo! It correctly says ‘FOOTER’ and not ‘ORDER CONFIRMATION PAGE’ because the “Donation Confirmation” page is not the same as the “Order Confirmation” page. They are very different.

When you’ve added the script, you can customise the message that will appear. There are two text elements, one that appears before the contribution amount, and one that will appear afterwards.
