Popup forms not working on mobile devices [15 January 2021]

Squarespace made unannounced changes on 15th January 2021 that prevent popup forms from working on mobile devices. This affects all popup/lightbox forms.

This means that mandatory Custom Product Form fields cannot be completed on mobile devices.

What are the symptoms?

When a customer tries to purchase a product or service that requires a custom product form to be completed, they cannot complete the lower-half of the form. This is because the lower part of the form becomes hidden behind the mobile device's on-screen keyboard, preventing mandatory fields from being completed.

Squarespace have told us that this bug is a high priority for their engineering team, but it has been a known issue for nearly 5 months.

Customers cannot purchase products using a mobile device because the lower-half of the form is hidden under the mobile device's keyboard, preventing some mandatory fields from being completed. This has been a known issue for nearly 5 months.

If these fields are mandatory, customers will not be able to submit the form or complete their purchase.

This bug was resolved on 22 June 2021.
