Blue insert markers are unpredictable [30 December 2020]

Blue insert markers were introduced on all sites today.

However, the new markers appear to be (to quote some users) “super buggy”. They aren't predictable or consistent, making it difficult for users to reliably insert or move blocks.

May 2021: Appears to have been resolved. No announcement of resolution was made.
