How to embed a PowerPoint Slideshow in Squarespace
It can be helpful to embed a PowerPoint presentation or slideshow in a Squarespace webpage or blog post to share with your visitors. This is straightforward to do, if you are using one of the latest versions of Microsoft 365 (formally Office 365).
There are a few simple steps that Iβve broken down into detailed steps further down the page:
Save your presentation to OneDrive and copy the Embed code
Add a Code Block and paste the Embed code
Save your presentation to OneDrive
The first step is to save your presentation to a public folder of OneDrive. To do this open PowerPoint for the Web. This is the online version of PowerPoint that is accessed using a browser such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge. The options youβll need are not available in the PC or Mac versions of PowerPoint, but the link above will take you straight to the web version.
If you are not already logged in using your Microsoft 365 account, youβll be prompted to log in when you click the link above.
Once logged in, open your saved presentation.
Click File then Share. Youβll see two options - Embed and Share with people.
Click Embed.
Under Dimensions, select a size for the slides. Larger is usually better.
Under Embed Code, right-click the code, click Copy, to make a copy of the code for the web page. You'll need to use this code in a few moments.
Click Close.
Add a Code Block
Log on to your Squarespace site and open the PAGES menu.
Navigate to the page or post where you would like to embed the slideshow.
Add a Code Block.
Ensure HTML is the selected option (top-right) and Display Source (top left) is not selected.
Paste the code (that you copied earlier) into the Code Block.
Click Apply.
Save the changes.
Your presentation should now be visible on the page. Updates to the presentation should automatically be reflected on the page where the presentation is embedded. If you experience any difficulties, contact Microsoft using your support contract.
