New price formatting [23 August 2022]

Squarespace started to release an “International Currency Formatting” update on 23 August 2022.

This update is being rolled out slowly (over several weeks) to all Squarespace 7.0 and 7.1 sites to improve the consistency of price formatting when using currencies other than US Dollars. In the past, currencies like the Euro would not always be consistent for countries like Germany where visitors would see a decimal point as the decimal separator instead of a comma, or the currency symbol before the number instead of after. The update affects what visitors see in online stores, like store pages, checkout pages, and cart pages.

Unfortunately this update including a number of “bugs” and caused issues on all sites using custom code to format or style price information.
