Cookie opt out added to Squarespace cookie banner

Today, Squarespace added a ‘Decline’ option to the cookie banner, to allow visitors to opt-out of cookies that are not strictly necessary.

On 8th April, the Cookies & Visitor Data panel was updated to include new options.

The help guide Adding a cookie banner has been updated too.

This update will improve privacy compliance on Squarespace sites, but it is not the final solution and does not comply with GDPR and other privacy legislation yet. A number of key features are still missing, including the ability to allow visitors to re-access the banner on demand to change their consent setting. Squarespace told us they are aware of this requirement and are considering further improvements to the cookie banner.
