Announcement Bar text formatting bug [14 March 2020]

When pasting text into the Announcement Bar it should not retain any text formatting - it should paste as plain text. This is because there are no tools to style the text.

Currently, when you paste text into the Announcement Bar, the text format remains and cannot easily be removed.

This bug was acknowledged by Squarespace on 14 March 2020 and was passed to their Design and Engineering teams for review.

The current workaround is to:

  • Delete all text contents of the field

  • On empty formatted field, Select all (Cmd A or Ctrl A)

  • Delete again to remove formatting

This is a temporary workaround rather than a permanent fix for the issue.
