Education Web Design Specialist
We can help your school, college or nursery to communicate with parents and the community.
We specialise in websites for the education sector
Weβre an approved Education Authority supplier
Why choose us?
We've built our fair share of school websites, for nursery schools, primary schools and secondary schools, but we don't limit ourselves to this. We take what we learn from every project, in every sector and we put it into our next project. The best website designer is one that will get to know your organisation and your users. We use an iterative design process in which we focus on your website users and their needs. Our goal is simple. To create beautiful but highly usable websites that are easy for you to update.
Our experience will help
We've built up considerable experience in knowing what parents, prospective parents and pupils want from a school website so if you're considering a website refresh we can help you to understand their points of view. We'll show you how to increase your engagement with parents and use your website interactively with students.
Your school - your style
We understand that you'll want your school to stand out. You'll want your school's ethos to show through. For this reason we don't provide website templates that all look the same. We'll build you a custom solution that helps your visitors to understand your school.
Design expertise
Everything we build is designed for simplicity. Our expertise in Experience Design (also known as UX Design) means that we build our websites to not only look good, but to be easy to navigate. Fewer clicks for visitors means less phone calls for you.
Easy to update
When it comes to design, it's not just your visitors we're thinking about. It's you too. Our websites are some of the easiest to update. School website administrators tell us they've never seen anything this simple. It means they don't spend hours updating the site - they spend minutes.
Whatβs the process?
Step 01
Initial Consultation
Objective: Understand your needs, goals, and expectations.
The first step is to schedule a one-hour discovery call or meeting to talk about your organisation and your vision. We will discuss the project scope, design preferences, target audience, and functionality requirements. In other words, we will talk about the audience you want to reach and what theyβll need from your website.
After the meeting, if we both agree we are a good fit, youβll receive a Proposal and Contract.
Step 02
Proposal and Contract
Objective: Clearly outline project terms and secure a formal agreement.
Weβll draft a detailed proposal, so that we both know what is expected of us. It will include:
Scope of work
Deliverables
Proposed timeline and milestones
Payment terms (50% deposit before starting and 50% upon completion).
Once you have accepted the proposal, weβll send you an invoice for the initial deposit.
Step 03
Deposit Payment
Objective: Secure your slot in our calendar by making a financial commitment.
Weβll send you an invoice for the 50% deposit. This must be paid before work commences on your project.
Step 04
Content Collection
Objective: Ensure all necessary content is provided (by the client).
Youβll be given a homework assignment that usually takes one to two weeks to complete and is due 10 days before the project starts. Our assignment will include:
writing your written content (known as βcopyβ)
sourcing your images - unless you have booked our own copywriting and/or photography services
requesting access permissions to your domain name so that we can connect it to the website later in step 09
Weβll send you a content checklist document, into which you can paste all your text based content.
Weβll also send you a WeTransfer link to allow you to upload all the relevant images, including logos and photographs.
If you need any help with your homework, weβre here to help. However, we need to work to strict project timelines so, if your homework assignment is not completed by the due date, we will be unable to start your project on the agreed date. If you think the dog will eat your homework, please contact us as soon as possible and youβll be assigned an alternative date (subject to availability).
Step 05
Design and Build
Once weβve received your deposit and your content, weβll start designing your website.
Weβll check in with you by email and scheduled video calls as the design progresses. If youβre local to us and would prefer to meet in person, this can also be arranged.
The site will be built for both mobile and desktop visitors.
This is typically a 2-6 week process. If you have asked us to help with branding, copywriting or photographs, this can increase timescales.
Step 06
Revisions
Objective: Refine the design based on feedback.
Once the draft design(s) are ready, weβll share them with you and ask for your feedback in writing. If changes are requested, weβll make changes for you and supply a new draft design. Typically, we provide up to two rounds of revisions within the agreed cost
Step 07
Development and Finalisation
Once youβve approved the draft design(s) weβll develop the website and test it for functionality, responsiveness, and performance.
When we think it is ready, weβll share the site with you for final approval. Weβll also send your final invoice.
Step 08
Final Payment
Weβll send you an invoice to cover the remaining 50% payment. Once payment is received, the website will go live.
Step 09
Launch
When youβre ready, weβll launch your website.
We will take care of all the technical stuff, including the purchase or transfer of your domain name, the configuration of technical things like DNS, SSL and clickjacking protection so you can sit back and admire your new site.
Provide login credentials, training, and any final documentation.
As part of the handover, weβll provide you with login credentials and provide training on how to update your website yourself. This is typically a one-hour training session over Zoom, but we also offer up to 90 minutes of in-person training for groups (travel costs apply).
Step 10
Follow-Up and Support
When the website is up and running, this isnβt the end of the story. Weβll provide ongoing support for you and your website so that you can be confident in keeping it up-to-date. Support is just an email away.
